UI/UX Design Certificate
I recently finished the UI/UX Design Certificate Program from UT Austin’s McCombs School of Business. This was something I had bookmarked before the pandemic. One of those professional bucket list goals I kept thinking about but hadn’t made time for until now.
I didn’t take the course to completely shift careers. I took it to grow as a designer and to build more structure around the UX work I already do. I’ve always cared about how things feel and function, not just how they look, and this gave me a chance to learn more tools, ask better questions, and bring new energy into my process.
What I Got Out of It:
Completed a 24-week UI/UX program focused on research, usability, and design systems
Got hands-on with Figma and finally feel fluent in it
Refreshed UX methods like journey mapping, wireframing, and user interviews
Learned more about accessibility and inclusive design
Built a full portfolio-ready case study from research to prototype (not sure if I will add it to my public facing portfolio, but it was still a fun project)
This felt like the right next step in a season of creative growth. Quiet progress, but meaningful.
